Passed over by the candidate for the Santa Catarina Senate, Senator Esperidião Amin (PP) casts doubt on his support for the presidential candidacy of (PL-RJ).
“My candidate since December has been Flávio, but now I don’t know if it will be legally legal. I would like it to be, but we have legislation to comply with”, he told the Panel.
Amin was sidelined after the governor (PL) defined that the two candidates for the Senate on his ticket will be the former councilor and the federal deputy, both from PL. The movement had the approval of the party leadership and former president Jair Bolsonaro.
As a result, the state’s PP, which would support Mello’s re-election, could remain neutral or ally with the Bolsonarian mayor of Chapecó, João Rodrigues. He is from the PSD, which is considering having another candidate for President of the Republic, probably Governor Ratinho Jr., from Paraná.
According to Amin, it is the PL who has to explain its electoral option. “The governor anticipated the electoral process, made an option. Let’s make ours at the appropriate time”, stated the senator.
What is defined, he says, is that he will be a candidate for another term. “I am a pre-candidate for senator, with the support of my party and the federation. The PL has the right to its positions. We will take the position that suits us”, he stated.
