Party linked to MBL activates TSE after pro-Lula parade – 02/19/2026 – Brasília Hoje

The , linked to the , entered on Wednesday (18) with new representation in the (Superior Electoral Court) for early electoral propaganda against President Luiz Inácio da Silva (), the Workers’ Party and the Academicos de Niterói for the .

The document mentions the ministers last Thursday (12), who understood that barring the samba school presentation before it took place could constitute prior censorship, to argue that “electoral irregularities took place” during the parade on Sunday (15).

According to Missão, which has Renan Santos as a pre-candidate for Planalto, “there were many electoral elements that considered the ‘tribute’ blatant, completely distorting the freedom of cultural and carnival expression”.

The caption mentions that Lula was the only pre-candidate for the Presidency who was the subject of a samba-enredo and that the PT member went to Marquês de Sapucaí to watch the parade, which gave the president exposure on television and social media and which would have resulted in an “offense to equality of opportunity”.

“Although he says that the honor did not come from him, he was previously consulted and voluntarily accepted it, even though he knew it was an election year and was aware of the various public contributions, made by different federative entities, that samba schools usually receive to promote the , as a cultural event”, states the representation.

“There was a blatant offense to the equality of opportunity between the candidates, because only the represented Lula was honored and had the entire parade of a samba school from the special group in Rio de Janeiro, to boast his supposed qualities and personal achievements. This inequality of opportunities between the candidates is enough, according to jurisprudence, to characterize advance propaganda”, he adds.

The party linked to the MBL once again cited the lyrics of the samba-plot by Acadêmicos de Niterói, which makes reference to Lula’s ballot box number (13), in addition to citing costumes and allegories that represented social programs under the PT administration and moments in the parade that referred to the president’s past campaigns.

It also points out that people who paraded on the avenue made the “L” – a hand gesture associated with Lula. “As if promoting the pre-candidacy at the sambadrome and on open TV was not enough, the Acadêmicos de Niterói school also made a point of promoting early electoral propaganda on its social networks”, he says.

The representation of Missão also mentions the wing and the character of the clown Bozo sitting behind the bars, symbolizing the .

According to the caption, “Lula and his supporters were exalted, while his opponents were ridiculed, labeled clowns, coup plotters, retrogrades, elitists, inhumane.”

“This set of works denotes advance electoral propaganda and could constitute, depending on other circumstances that arise until the registration of the candidacy, abuse, which could be alleged in due course in a judicial electoral investigation action”, he states.

In addition to the fine for early electoral propaganda, the party asks the TSE to prohibit Lula, the PT and Acadêmicos de Niterói from using images from the parade during the pre-campaign and electoral propaganda period.

To Academicos de Niterói on Wednesday (18), one year after ascending to the Special Group. The group only scored 264.6 points. With this, she will return to the Gold Group. This year’s winner is another school from Niterói, Viradouro.

A Sheet found that, with the negative repercussion of the parade, Lula’s allies believe that the government, while the right, has regained the initiative.

The PT administration had considered that it had managed to balance the dispute in the digital field and .

Executive political organizers believe that the wear and tear on social media could materialize starting next week in the National Congress in the form of requests for information and attempts to take ministers to the Legislature to talk about the parade.
