A TVDE driver deliberately crashed into the facade of Novo Banco, on Avenida da República, in Vila Nova de Gaia, during a pursuit of customers who had attacked him moments before. The incident occurred in the early hours of this Friday and emergency resources were mobilized after the alert for a road accident, recorded at around 1 am.
According to the information gathered, the driver was called to a transport service and, after collecting the passengers, he was the target of attacks inside the vehicle. The situation degenerated into physical confrontations, leading customers to abandon the vehicle. The driver then decided to follow them along the public road.
Contrary to the first versions that pointed to an accidental crash, it was later confirmed that the driver had intentionally collided with the glass window of the bank branch. At the time of impact, at least one of the individuals involved in the attacks was already inside the building.
The case is now being investigated by authorities, who are seeking to determine all the circumstances of the incident, both the initial attacks and the collision with the building.
