A english band u2 released this Wednesday (19) a new albumthe first of new songs in almost ten years. The EP features collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Ukrainian musician Taras Topolia, a former soldier.
According to the band’s website, the EP, called “Days of Ash,” is “an immediate response to current events and inspired by the many extraordinary and courageous people fighting on the front lines of freedom.”
Bono, lead singer of the band, said in the statement that “the tracks on this EP couldn’t wait; these songs were impatient to conquer the world. These are songs of challenge and discouragement.”
In the opening track, titled “American Obituary”, the band pays tribute to Renne Goodby Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. U2 have stated that they will also release a full album this year.
