Publications on social media allege that the so-called “Epstein Files” exposed American presenter Ellen DeGeneres as a “cannibal” and consumer of children’s flesh. Some of these messages are accompanied by a photograph showing him with a child on a boat, suggesting a link to the Jeffrey Epstein case. But are these allegations substantiated? SIC Verifies.
The viral posts present two main ideas: that court documents related to Jeffrey Epstein would have revealed that Ellen DeGeneres practiced cannibalism and ate children; and that a photograph where the former presenter appears next to a child on a boat, supposedly in international waters, would be proof of this connection.
“Epstein’s files expose Ellen DeGeneres as Hollywood’s ‘most prolific cannibal’. She ate children’s flesh,” says one of the publications.
These allegations are often presented as recent revelations associated with the release of documents from the Epstein case. However, they don’t show that Ellen DeGeneres is a cannibal.
There is no evidence in the documents released by the United States Department of Justice that indicates that Ellen has practiced cannibalism or has been involved in crimes of this type. An analysis of the files shows that the presenter’s name appears in some documents, but only in indirect contexts, such as references to news, messages or social events.
