Eiffel Tower was also the target of the alert, but ended up not being evacuated
A series of emails with bomb threats led on Friday to the evacuation of people from skyscrapers in the French capital, the Montparnasse Tower and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), as police sources confirmed to BFM TV and ‘Le Figaro’.
The Eiffel Tower was also the target of this alert, but authorities did not evacuate people there at that time, they told BFM TV.
French police are already investigating the origin of the emails. “This investigation, under the responsibility of the Paris police leadership, is currently ongoing,” according to police sources cited by both media outlets.
The emails, sent to different local authorities, contained threats to “fly several locations in Paris”, but at the moment there is no further information about their origin.
