Images and videos generated by artificial intelligence (AI) now often appear deceptively real: even so-called super recognizers have problems distinguishing real faces from those generated with AI. Although super recognizers have a special ability to recognize faces and thereby identify people, they performed only slightly better than a control group in a study published in the British Journal of Psychology.
