Eurobic customers accuse the bank of abandonment after fraud and some protested this morning. They guarantee that they lost thousands of euros in fraudulent transfers. They also demand that the Bank of Portugal declare the existence of serious failures and reimburse those injured.
Around 100 Eurobic Abanca customers claim that they were victims of illegitimate appropriation of funds, with losses ranging between two thousand and two hundred thousand euros. A dozen of those injured gathered this Monday at the door of Abanca’s headquarters to ask for explanations.
At issue are operations that occurred without your knowledge. They guarantee that did not provide confirmation codes or access the security applications homebanking at the time of transactions.
They say they know the destination of the money, but emphasize that No one has so far taken any responsibility. They filed a complaint with the Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Bank of Portugal, but didn’t get any response until now.
In a statement, Grupo Abanca continues to reject any system failure or vulnerability. The financial institution claims that these crimes are the result of increasingly sophisticated external schemes. The group also guarantees that it will continue to support customers who are victims of fraud.
