This year, the Vienna Festival is changing from last year’s “Republic of Love” to the “Republic of Gods”. The 75th anniversary of the festival, which Milo Rau is responsible for the third time, is announced as a “mythical celebration of criticism and longing for God”. Plans include a “Whitsun Festival” by Florentina Holzinger, a Patti Smith focus, productions by Romeo Castellucci, Angélica Liddell and Susanne Kennedy as well as Rau’s collage “The Best Piece of All Time”.
