Flávio Bolsonaro’s mother will be a substitute candidate for the Senate on the PL ticket in Rio

Former councilor Rogéria Bolsonaro will be the first substitute for the mayor of Belford Roxo, Marcio Canella (União), in his candidacy for the Senate this year. The agreement, reported by the portal “Tempo Real” and confirmed by GLOBO, was reached this Tuesday, at the meeting in which Canella was introduced to the Senate on the PL ticket, which will nominate Douglas Ruas to the government.

The meeting was led by senator and presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), Rogéria’s son. She is also the mother of former councilor Carlos Bolsonaro — who will also be a candidate for the Senate this year, but for Santa Catarina — and former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro.

In addition to Canella, another candidate for the Senate on the Bolsonarist ticket in Rio will be governor Cláudio Castro (PL).

Each candidate for the Senate must register two substitutes when registering their candidacy. In the event of a senator’s leave or resignation, substitutes are called to take over the chair.
