Notes made during a summit meeting, this Tuesday (24), with the presence of the presidential pre-candidate (PL-RJ), reveal plans of former president Jair Bolsonaro’s party in this year’s elections and expose opinions about the candidates that are not made known to the public.
A Sheet obtained access to the text, which is titled “situation in the states” and contains a printed list of possible competitors along with several handwritten notes. It was not possible to identify the author of the observations made in pen, but in the room where this map was debated were the politicians who make up the PL leadership, in addition to Flávio himself.
This Tuesday, the senator participated in meetings with his campaign coordinator, senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), and the party president, Valdemar Costa Neto.
At the top of the first page, it says “ligar Tarcísio”, in reference to the governor of , (Republicans).
In relation to São Paulo, the notes deal with possible candidates for Tarcísio’s vice-president, who will run for re-election. The name of the current vice president, Felício Ramuth (PSD), which was Tarcísio’s preferred name, appears linked by an arrow to a “$”. Ramuth is the target of a , case revealed last week. He denies having committed any wrongdoing.
Just below, there is a question: “André do Prado vice?”, in reference to the president of the Legislative Assembly, who is from the PL and tries to oust Ramuth for the vice position.
Representative Guilherme Derrite (PP) is one of the candidates for the Senate on the Bolsonaro ticket, but the second name in the dispute, . The draft features five possible candidates handwritten, in this order: Renato Bolsonaro, brother of former president Jair Bolsonaro, Mario Frias, Coronel Mello Araújo and Marco Feliciano.
The meeting was scheduled by Flávio and his main allies to outline an overview of the party months before the national election. It was a “brainstorm” with the photograph of the moment, according to the senator’s interlocutors. The official registration of candidates only takes place in August.
The paper indicates disbelief among the PL leadership, in Minas Gerais, regarding vice-governor Mateus Simões (Novo), who will run for government. The deputy takes the “pull me down” remark.
“If he is a candidate”, follows the note about Simões, “Cleitinho and Pacheco are also”, says the paper, in reference to senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and senator Cleitinho (Republicans).
The PL is also considering introducing Flávio Roscoe, president of Fiemg (Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais), to the government. Flávio’s party does not have a candidate in Minas — the deputy was a candidate, but does not want to run for the Executive. Next to Roscoe it says “conversation with Nikolas”.
Senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), secretary Marcelo Aro (PP) and deputies Eros Biondini (PL-MG) and Domingos Sávio (PL-MG) are registered as candidates for the Senate, but only Viana and Sávio have a pen line of endorsement next to their names.
In Alagoas, those listed for government include the mayor of Maceió, JHC (PL), and federal deputy Alfredo Gaspar (União Brasil). Next to JHC, the draft says that it is necessary to talk to him by March 15th, while, next to Gaspar, the note says: “the only one who will ask for a vote for me”.
Among the candidates for Senate in the state, a pen note includes the name “Arthur (JB)”, in an indication that the former president (PL) may support the deputy (PP-AL) for the post.
An agreement in the PL established that Bolsonaro will define the candidates for the Senate, while Valdemar will choose the candidates for state governments.
The document shows a PL impasse in the Federal District. In theory, the party’s ticket would be formed by vice-governor Celina Leão (PP) as a candidate for government, alongside candidates for Senate (PL) and Bia Kicis (PL).
A pen note, however, notes that “if Ibaneis [Rocha, do MDB] If you’re a candidate for the Senate, you can’t make it official with Celina.” The draft indicates that there would be no room for two PL candidates on the same ticket.
The governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PP), should be supported by the PL in the state, with former governor Reinaldo Azambuja (PL) and former state deputy Capitão Contar (PL) as possible candidates for the Senate. “Recall/better in polls,” says a note about Contar.
In the state, Bolsonaro federal deputy Marcos Pollon says he intends to run for government or, if Bolsonaro prefers, for the Senate. The draft records: “Pollon (asked for 15 million not to be a candidate)”.
When contacted by the report, Pollon says that the note “doesn’t make any sense” and that he has not had contact with Valdemar to make such a request.
“They know that I don’t work like that. Those who work in activism don’t need money. This is a reputation assassination campaign because they know that I’m not for sale and I don’t bend to deals,” he said.
In Bahia, the document demonstrates that the PL’s priority is to establish an alliance with ACM Neto (União Brasil), which will compete for government. “Talk first, then we’ll deal with the full platform”, says the note written next to the name of the former mayor of Salvador.
In Ceará, the plan is to support (PSDB), with the PL joining its ticket. In Piauí, the president of the PP, Ciro Nogueira, appears as an option to support the Senate.
The document points out that senator Efraim Filho (União Brasil-PB) must join the PL to run for the Government of Paraíba. Former minister Marcelo Queiroga (PL) is expected to run for the Senate.
Federal deputy Giacobo (PL-PR) “cannot be a candidate (Valdemar)”, says the draft. In the state, the PL’s plan is to support deputy Filipe Barros (PL) for the Senate. Supporting a second name, such as Cristina Graeml, says the document, “is not possible, it would hinder Filipe”.
This is because the PL counts on the election of Deltan Dallagnol to the Senate, and there are only two vacancies. “Ratinho’s Candidate [Junior, do PSD]first in the polls”, says the draft regarding Dallagnol.
Rio Grande do Sul appears resolved with an “ok”. The candidate for government will be federal deputy Zucco (PL) and the candidates for the Senate will be deputies Sanderson (PL) and Marcel Van Hattem (Novo).
Former minister Onyx Lorenzoni (PP) would be part of the negotiation for deputy governor. “Call Onyx and communicate. Offer vice to the PP (Covatti [deputado federal] accepted)”, he says.
In relation to Goiás, the possible candidates for government would be vice-governor Daniel Vilela (MDB) and senator Wilder Moraes (PL), while for the Senate, deputy Gustavo Gayer (PL) and Gracinha Caiado (União Brasil), who is the wife of governor Ronaldo Caiado (PSD), are listed.
Senator Wellington Fagundes (PL), pre-candidate for the Government of Mato Grosso, appears with the observation: “first place in the polls”. His daughter-in-law, Janaina Riva (MDB), is among those listed for the Senate and “will be a candidate anyway”, according to the draft, that is, joining the PL ticket or not.
In Santa Catarina, as shown by the Sheeton the ticket for the Senate, which will have (PL) and deputy Caroline de Toni (PL), as determined by Bolsonaro. In the draft, Amin’s name appears crossed out.
