The minister, from the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and the federal deputy (-SP) announced this Wednesday (25) the defense of the formation of a federation between the PSOL, party of both, and the PT.
The party is divided over the party arrangement for this year’s election. Initially, the decision will be taken by the PSOL national directory, in a meeting scheduled for March 7th.
At the moment, there is no internal majority within the federation, but the position of Boulos and Hilton, two of the party’s best-known figures, should give weight to the discussion.
Their argument is that the formation of a federation would be important to expand PSOL’s influence on the left, reducing the taint of sectarianism. Furthermore, they claim that this will facilitate the defense of pulling the Lula government further to the left.
Opponents of the idea claim that the PSOL runs the risk of losing its identity if it forms an alliance with a much larger party, such as the PT, and that it could be swallowed up by it.
