Confusion at the INSS CPMI: See the fight after Lulinha’s breach of confidentiality

The session of the INSS Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) was suspended this Thursday morning (26) after a disturbance involving parliamentarians. The confusion, marked by arguments and pushing, occurred shortly after the board approved a series of important requests.

Among the measures approved was that of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha. Although his name was mentioned as a possible beneficiary in investigations into irregular discounts on the benefits of INSS retirees and pensioners, he was not the direct target of the Federal Police operation investigating the scheme.

Investigation underway

The CPMI was established to investigate irregular discounts made in the benefits of retirees and pensioners from the National Social Security Institute. The scheme, which is being investigated by the Federal Police, would have benefited several people through diversions in one of the phases of the operation.

The approval of the request to break the confidentiality of the president’s son generated immediate reactions among , highlighting the political polarization that permeates the commission’s work.
