Several countries have begun to withdraw dependents of diplomatic personnel and non-essential employees from some locations in the Middle East, or to advise their citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, amid growing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The United States and Iran aim to address Iran’s nuclear program and the possibility of American sanctions relief, but both countries have previously expressed skepticism about each other’s intentions.

Finland
Finland’s Foreign Ministry advised its citizens to avoid all travel to Iran and to immediately leave Yemen and Libya, in travel warnings updated in late February.
Australia
The Australian government has directed dependents of Australian diplomats in Israel and Lebanon to leave the two countries, citing the deteriorating security situation in the region.
It also offered the option of voluntary departure to dependents of Australian diplomats in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Qatar.
Serbia
Serbia has advised its citizens in Iran to leave the country as quickly as possible due to rising tensions and the risk of a deteriorating security situation. (
Poland
Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that Polish citizens must leave Iran immediately.
USA
The US is withdrawing non-essential staff and eligible family members from its embassy in Lebanon amid tensions with Iran.
Sweden
The Foreign Ministry has advised its citizens to avoid all travel to Iran and to leave the country immediately by January 12, 2026. The Foreign Minister said in February that people who decide to remain in the country should not expect government assistance to be evacuated.
India
The Indian embassy in Iran has advised citizens staying in the country to leave the territory by available means of transport, including commercial flights.
Cyprus
Cyprus has advised its citizens to avoid all travel to Iran and to leave the country immediately by January 13, 2026.
Singapore
Singapore has advised its citizens to continue postponing all travel to Iran.
Germany
Germany has recommended that its citizens leave Iran, noting that commercial flights are still operating and that exit by land is also possible.
Brazil
Brazil last week recommended that its citizens leave Iran, following a similar warning made to citizens of Lebanon in January. Last year, the government recommended that Brazilians not travel to both countries.
