Video: Motorcyclist is swept away by floods after rain in Juiz de Fora (MG)

In a video obtained by CNN Brazilit is possible to see the moment when a motorcyclist is swept away by a flood in heavy rain which affected the Bom Pastor neighborhood, in the south zone of Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais.

The man and the vehicle were carried away by the current, which was blocking the road at the time of the incident.

The man responsible for the recording even stated while filming: “I told him not to go! Oh my God!”. The video shows him trying to get out of the situation.

So far, there is no information about the man’s whereabouts.

Rains in Minas Gerais

The heavy rains that devastated the cities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá, in Zona da Mata, in Minas Gerais, at the beginning of this week, have left, until now, 49 dead and 18 missing. According to authorities, more than 3000 people remain homeless.

In Juiz de Fora, 43 deaths were recorded and six in Ubá. According to the Civil Police, all deaths were due to burial in situations caused by rain.

The storms caused landslides, floods and landslides in different regions of Minas.
