Flamengo was once again beaten by Lanús this Thursday (26), this time, in extra time played at Maracanã, and lost the Recopa title to the Argentine team.
In normal time, the Rio team won 2-1, equaling the score of the decision, held over two games. In the first leg, at home, the Argentine team had won 1-0. In extra time, however, Lanús scored twice in the second half and won the match 3-2, taking the cup.
In normal time, Flamengo went behind after a mistake by goalkeeper Rossi in the first half. Advanced in midfield, he missed a pass and handed the ball to the opponent. Castillo dribbled past the goalkeeper and opened the scoring in the 29th minute.
Before the break, Arrascaeta left everything the same, at 37, but the home team still needed to turn the match around to tie the match. And they only achieved this in the second half, when Jorginho converted a penalty, in the 40th minute.
In extra time, Canela and Aquino scored the goals that defined the score at Maracanã.
It was the second decision played by the Rio team this season. In the first, in a single game, the team was defeated by Corinthians 2-0, in the Supercopa Rei, which pitted the current champions of the Copa do Brasil, the São Paulo club, and the Brazilian Championship, the red and black team.
Flamengo returns to the field next Monday, in a semi-final in Carioca already underway against Madureira, after winning 3-0 in the first leg.
