It’s not a typical CV in any way – but for Hannah Spencer it led straight to the British House of Commons. The 34-year-old not only defeated the former Labor Party in a by-election in the Gorton and Denton district of Manchester, a traditional Labor stronghold. She was also successful against the far-right candidate from Nigel Farage’s Reform Party. Spencer is the fifth Green Party in Westminster.
