As a witness, the president of Crefisa and Palmeiras will be questioned about fraud related to retirees and pensioners
The CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the (National Social Security Institute) this Thursday (26.Feb.2026), the call for president of and the to give testimony as a witness. The day of the hearing has not yet been scheduled.
The call was presented by the committee’s rapporteur, deputy (União-AL). Congressmen want clarification on signs of Crefisa’s involvement in fraud related to deviations in associative discounts. Read (PDF-383kB).
CPMI investigates the role of the financial institution in irregularities involving contracts with the INSS. The deputies expect the businesswoman to explain the allegations of practices against the institute’s retirees and pensioners.
According to the rapporteur, Leila’s summons is a “necessary measure” to clarify whether Crefisa’s senior management was aware of irregularities reported by beneficiaries, which include pressure to open accounts and contract services without due information, which it classifies as close to “abusive practices”.
INSS the contract with Crefisa in August 2025. The decision was made due to the volume of complaints from pensioners and retirees. The bank has been unable to process assigned loans since the cancellation.
Gaspar asks in the application that the businesswoman inform about the “complaints and irregularities”measures taken and deadlines, control and responsibility mechanisms “due to action or omission in maintaining practices that culminated in restrictive measures by the INSS”.
