Minister Šušnjar rejects criticism of the Hungarian MOL: Adria oil pipeline surpasses Druzhba in price and reliability

Croatian Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar announced on Thursday that the operator of the Adria pipeline, JANAF, is a safe and reliable partner offering comparable prices. He responded to claims by the Hungarian oil company MOL that the Croatian pipeline charges higher fees, writes TASR according to a report by the HINA agency.

The minister noted that the Adria pipeline uses a shorter and cheaper route to Hungary and Slovakia and that prices remain significantly lower than in the case of the Družba pipeline. Regarding the capacity of the pipeline, Adria stated that the current supplies of non-Russian oil to Hungary prove its reliability.

Šušnjar is currently on an official visit to the United States, where, according to his own words, informed the administration of President Donald Trump about the energy potential of Croatia and the infrastructure in which the country has recently invested significantly.

At the same time, the minister called on EU partners – namely Slovakia and Hungary – to cut themselves off from Russian fossil fuels as a show of solidarity with Ukraine. He emphasized that Croatia will comply with international law and will not succumb to pressure regarding the supply of Russian oil.
