Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, declared “open war” on the Taliban government of Afghanistan this Friday (27). The Pakistani politician’s position comes after an increase in tensions and attacks from both sides.
On the social network X, Asif stated that the Taliban deprived Afghans of their rights and . “Our patience has run out. Now it’s open war between you and us.”
The Taliban government spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed that, this morning, the Afghan capital, Kabul, in addition to the cities of Kandahar and Paktia. According to Mujahid, there were no injuries resulting from this offensive. Afghanistan said that its military forces attacked sections of the 2,600-kilometer border with Pakistan on Thursday night (26), in retaliation for Pakistani bombings that took place last Sunday (22).

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi offered help in improving relations between Islamabad and Kabul. “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide all necessary assistance to facilitate dialogue and strengthen understanding and cooperation between the two countries,” he posted on his social media.
