The A Esquina restaurant, integrated into Quinta dos Santos, in Lagoa, offers a gastronomic experience in the heart of the Algarve, surrounded by vineyards and recovered architectural elements. According to the Quinta dos Santos website, the space is the result of the dos Santos family returning to their ancestral property and transforming eight hectares of land into an agricultural and restoration unit.
Located between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo, the property began to be restored in September 2016, having opened to the public in 2018, after planting, construction and rehabilitation work.
From recovery to own production
The farm currently includes three hectares of vineyards and one hectare of new olive trees, preserving ancient trees such as almond trees, carob trees, cork oaks and centuries-old olive trees. Channels belonging to an ancient aqueduct system were also restored and ruined stone walls were restored.
The architectural complex combines contemporary buildings with the rural landscape, offering panoramic views over the vineyards. The A Esquina restaurant seeks to reflect the connection between its own production and gastronomic offerings.
