Clintons’ closed-door interrogation: Ex-president says he knew nothing about Epstein’s crimes

  • Bill Clinton has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes before a congressional committee.
  • He claims that he knew Epstein for a short time and broke off contact a long time ago.
  • The ex-president stated that he would rather not claim unverified things when he has vague memories.
  • Clinton defended his wife Hillary, according to him, she had nothing to do with Epstein.
  • Available records show 17 visits by Epstein to the White House during his era.

Former US President Bill Clinton in his testimony before the House Oversight Committee, he denied any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, as he only knew him briefly and they parted ways long before his crimes came to light. TASR informs about it according to the DPA agency.

“I saw nothing and did nothing wrong,” said the 79-year-old former American president in his opening statement, which he published on the X social network. “I had no idea of the crimes that Epstein was committing,” Clinton added. “Often you will hear from me that I do not remember,” he stated before his statement saying that he won’t say anything he’s not sure about since the events are 24 years ago. If he had any suspicions, he would have reported Epstein, he said.

The former president also defended his wife, Hillary Clinton, who testified a day earlier, while she had to repeat several times before the committee that she did not know Epstein. According to Clinton, it was wrong to force his wife to testify, since “she had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing at all.”

The Clintons’ hearing is being held behind closed doors in Chappaqua, New York, where they both live. The committee’s Republican chairman, James Comer, said before the hearing that the former president is set to testify about photos, emails and travel related to convicted sex predator Epstein.

DPA reminds that according to available information, Epstein was in the White House 17 times during Clinton’s presidency, and the former president traveled on his plane at least 27 times. Republicans plan to release the full video transcripts of the hearing as soon as possible.
