Many old superstitions refer to spring as a period when nature comes to life and people gain more energy and willingness to act. However, before spring arrives, it falls at the turn of February in Poland early spring.
Then the days become longer, the sun warms up a bit more, but the nights are still frosty, which translates into a large temperature difference. This is a special moment associated with numerous rituals intended to protect against poverty, disease and evil forces.
One superstition says that you should refrain from doing certain activities until at least 8 o’clock . Otherwise, financial matters may look miserable. What exactly is this about?
Early spring is an important time of the year, associated with numerous superstitions and customs. One of them concerned the ban on working with sharp tools, so as not to accidentally harm nature. The ban also applied to sewing.
In turn, to attract prosperity to the house, green twigs were brought to it. This was supposed to guarantee good luck and attract spring. To ward off heavy rains and scare away evil, pitchforks, pokers and brooms were placed in front of houses in early spring.
Hearing birds singing was a good omen for the future. It is a harbinger of spring, identified with the end of winter. However, a lot depended on what bird you heard and even what time of day. The best omen was morning singing – especially before sunrise. In turn, singing heard after dark was supposed to be a harbinger of danger.
According to ancient superstitions, there was a right time for everything. Perhaps there is a grain of truth in these old beliefs, so it is worth following the old rules. It is better not to do some seemingly innocent things before March 8, because it may have a negative impact on your finances.
This concerns possible renovations. It is better to postpone them until the second half of March or even until the next month. Under no circumstances should we decide to do so before March 8. This is not a good month for this type of change, and especially the beginning is not good. Even though we want to refresh our apartment and symbolically start something new, such action may have a negative impact on the size of our wallet or bank account.
If we start the renovation between March 1 and March 8, the work will drag on, specialists will not be able to do their job, there will be a shortage of materials and suddenly it will turn out that there are a lot of things to repair. Therefore, the costs will be much higher than we expected. If renovation work can only wait, it is better to postpone it for another month – for your own good.
