A wife of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he died this Monday (2) in resulting from injuries sustained during the attack joint effort between the United States and Israel, Iranian media reported.
Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, 79, had been in a coma since the attacks on Saturday (28) which, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The Iranian News Agency Farsaligned with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported on Saturday that the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law and grandson died in the attack of the United States and Israel against the country.
Death of Ali Khamenei
Iran’s state media confirmed on Saturday the death of Ayatollah Ali Khameneiin the United States and Israel operation against the country.
Since 1989, Khamenei was the country’s supreme leader. He Succeeded Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeiniresponsible for establishing the Islamic republic in Iran.
Before, Khamenei was still president of Iranfrom 1981 to 1989.
The Ayatollah was born in 1939. As a young man, participated in protests against the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Khamenei was one of the leaders of the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
As Iran’s supreme leader, Khamenei brutally repressed a series of protests. In 1999, the Iranian government suppressed student mobilization. Likewise, in 2009, demonstrations triggered by a controversial presidential election were suppressed. Another wave of protest in 2019 was neutralized.
More recently, Tehran harshly repressed the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. From the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2023, several Demonstrations hit Iran after the death of Mahsa Aminidetained for allegedly violating the dress code imposed on women.
Iran says it will not negotiate with the US
