CNJ removes TJ-MT judge suspected of selling decisions – 03/02/2026 – Politics

The (National Council of Justice) removed judge Dirceu dos Santos, from the 3rd Chamber of Private Law of the TJ-MT (Court of Justice of Mato Grosso), this Monday (2). The judge is suspected of selling decisions in exchange for advantages, negotiating with businessmen and lawyers.

The PF () was at the headquarters of the Mato Grosso court, in , to extract digital files and mirror electronic devices belonging to the judge and his office.

A Sheet contacted the Mato Grosso Court of Justice by email to obtain their position regarding the removal of the judge and the action of the Federal Police, but there was no response until the publication of this report.

In a note, the CNJ stated that Dirceu dos Santos moved more than R$14.6 million in the last five years. According to the council, the breach of the judge’s banking and tax secrecy pointed to a variation in assets “at a level incompatible” with the judge’s income.

“The detailed analysis of its annual Income Tax adjustment declarations indicated intense variation in uncovered assets, notably in the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, a period contemporaneous with the facts investigated, it being certain that, only in this last year, the difference between the asset increase and its lawfully earned income reached the level of R$ 1,913,478.48”, says the statement.

The decision to remove the TJ-MT judge was taken by the national justice inspector, Minister Mauro Campbell Marques, on a provisional basis.

“The measure in question, of a precautionary nature, is proportional to the seriousness of the reports and aims to preserve the credibility of the judiciary, ensure the regular functioning of Justice and maintain society’s trust in the Judiciary, not configuring a prior judgment of guilt, as it is in strict accordance with due legal process”, stated the body.
