In an impassioned speech during the “Acorda Brasil” event, held this Sunday (1st), at Lago do Amor, in Rio Branco, he called on right-wing supporters to occupy the streets and defend what he called “Christian principles and family values”.

“Today is a very special moment. We who are right-wing, who defend the family, have to take to the streets. Brazil needs to change”, said the parliamentarian, to applause from the protesters.

During his speech, Lira criticized the federal government and mentioned episodes that occurred during Carnival, alleging that Christians had been disrespected in events sponsored by the Union. For him, the basis of a structured society is the family. “The foundation of a society is the family. When the family is structured, society will be structured”, he said.

A criminal police officer for 16 years, the councilor recounted his experience in the prison system to reinforce the argument that family disruption contributes to social problems. “We see that, often, it is the family that is dysfunctional,” he declared.

Joabe Lira also declared support for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro’s nomination for Presidency of the Republic. “Our president Flávio Bolsonaro will certainly win the election and will change the history of Brazil,” he stated. He also defended the election of right-wing senators and deputies, as well as a governor who, according to him, “truly defends the family, not just with words”.

At the end, he issued a warning to voters. “We have to be careful. During campaign season, many change their speech, approach churches and then abandon everything they said. We need to elect people who live Christian principles”, he concluded.
