Iranian Foreign Minister warns UN that Khamenei’s murder opens ‘Pandora’s box’

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the United Nations that the assassination of the Persian country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “opens a dangerous Pandora’s box.” Araghchi wrote in a letter to the UN this Sunday, 1st, that the murder “constitutes a serious and unprecedented violation of the most fundamental norms that govern relations between States”.

He once again called on the UN and Security Council to take action to ensure accountability for the United States and Israel for their role in the assassination.

“Such conduct not only violates established principles of international law; it recklessly opens a dangerous Pandora’s box, eroding the foundation of sovereign equality and the stability of the international system,” he added. Source: Associated Press
