The ongoing attacks by the Israeli army on the strongholds of the pro-Iranian militant movement Hezbollah in Lebanon claimed 52 lives and injured 154. The news website L’Orient-Le Jour reported on the updated official balance of attacks on Monday evening, writes TASR.
Airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, as well as in the south and east of Lebanon they also resulted in the escape of civilians. The Israeli army launched its intensive attacks on southern Lebanon, the Bikaa Valley and the southern suburbs of Beirut on Monday around 02:40 local time after a rocket attack, which was headed for the port city of Haifa in the north of the Jewish state. The Lebanese Hezbollah movement claimed responsibility for the attack, calling it retaliation for the death of Iran’s spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Kac declared, that the target for elimination is Hezbollah leader Naim Qasim. Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army Eyal Zamir added on Monday afternoon, that the armed forces are ready to eliminate “all terrorist leaders and factions” in the Middle East.
