Iran continues attacks on neighboring Gulf countries for a third day in response to US-Israeli strikes, with explosions reported on Monday morning in Dubai, Doha, Kuwait and Manama. AFP journalists also reported on explosions in Jerusalem, writes TASR.
“Attacks against civilians and countries not participating in combat operations represent irresponsible and destabilizing behavior,” the US State Department said earlier in a joint statement with Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced that one person was killed in the strikes, while this is the first casualty in the country since the beginning of the Iranian attacks. The total death toll in the Persian Gulf has risen to five since Saturday. At the same time, since Saturday, there have been several attacks on civil infrastructure in the Persian Gulf – from airports and seaports to residential buildings and hotels, writes AFP.
The United States and Israel launched a coordinated, large-scale military strike against Iran on Saturday, killing the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, among others. Iran responded with retaliatory missile and drone attacks on Israel and the Gulf states where US bases are located.
