The war with Iran This Monday entered its third day, becoming a conflict that is already spreading throughout the Middle East region and reaching Cyprus, an EU country. This Monday, the Red Crescent raised the death toll in Iran to 555 in two and a half days of bombing. But one of the keys to the day is that the Israeli Army’s operations have already extended to Lebanon.
In Beirut, at least 31 people were killed and another 149 were injured early Monday in a wave of Israeli bombings against the outskirts of Beirut and southern Lebanon, in response to an attack by the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah in the midst of the conflict with its ally Iran.
In Israel, no new fatalities have been reported, beyond the 10 people who died between Saturday and Sunday.
The Shiite group Hezbollah launched several projectiles at military installations in northern Israel. Israel responded by launching an intense wave of bombings against the southern suburbs of Beirut, known as Dahye.
The Israeli Army has called up nearly 100,000 reservists, in addition to regular soldiers, in order to defend the borders with Syria and Lebanon, but also its control over the occupied territories of Gaza and the West Bank.
The Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, identified this Monday the head of the Shiite group Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, as a “target” and insisted that the Lebanese militia “will pay a high price” for its attacks.
British base in Cyprus hit by Iranian drone
– From Jerusalem, the Israeli Army claimed this Monday to have bombed several underground headquarters of the Iranian regime in Tehran and has warned that the war will last as long as necessary.
– In Tehran, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported this Monday a new wave of attacks against government and military targets in various parts of Israel.
– A drone fell on a United Kingdom base in Cyprus: the president of Cyprus, Nikos Hristodoulides, confirmed this Monday that it was a Shahed drone, of Iranian production, and that it impacted shortly after last midnight (local) on the British military base in Akrotiri, located in the southwest of the island, causing minor material damage.
– Incident of an F15 in Kuwait: Iranian media reported this Monday of the downing of a United States F-15 fighter that intended to attack Iranian territory and that fell in Kuwait, while that country announced that several American aircraft had crashed this Monday, but that its crew members survived, without mentioning a possible shootdown.
