Berlin/Vienna – Wifo boss Gabriel Felbermayr is to join the Council of Economic Experts in Germany. According to insiders, the economist and former head of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy is intended to be Ulrike Malmendier’s successor on the Advisory Council, writes the Reuters news agency. The personnel will be discussed in the cabinet (Council of Ministers) on Wednesday. The 49-year-old is considered an expert on international trade issues, the labor market and European economic integration.
