The first plane with Czech tourists from the Middle East landed in Prague on Tuesday after 2:00 a.m. The Smartwings aircraft, with a capacity of approximately 200 people, transported passengers from Muscat Airport in Oman. TASR informs about this according to a report from the portal novinky.cz.

According to the DROZD system (Voluntary registration of citizens of the Czech Republic when traveling abroad), currently in the threatened region there are about 6,700 Czechs, with the largest number in Dubai. Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced on Monday that in response to the situation in the Middle East, the Czech Republic will strengthen security measures in the streets and at selected risk locations.
According to him, the Czech Republic is currently preparing a repatriation flight to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh intended for Czechs who were in Israel, and also to Amman in Jordan. According to Babiš, the Czech Republic will offer them to Slovakia and other countries if there are free seats on the planes. The United States and Israel launched coordinated air and missile strikes on Iranian military and strategic targets on Saturday. In retaliation, Iran attacked American military facilities in several countries in the Middle East.
According to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, there are approximately 5,000 citizens of the Slovak Republic who have registered on the website in connection with a request for assistance. All of them are interested in returning to Slovakia. According to the head of the department, Juraj Blanár, transportation of all is not possible due to capacity reasons. According to him, repatriation flights will primarily be aimed at mothers with children or sick people. He asked other citizens to be patient.
