A drone attack caused a fire this Tuesday, 3, near the United States consulate in Dubai. According to local authorities, the fire was controlled.
Residents reported hearing a loud explosion, while one said he saw the fire, as Iran continues its attacks in the Middle East in retaliation for American and Israeli strikes. Police forces cordoned off the area.
“The fire caused by an incident involving a drone near the United States consulate was successfully controlled,” the Dubai emirate’s media office reported on X. “Rescue teams intervened immediately. No injuries were reported.”

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that a drone hit the vicinity of his country’s consulate in Dubai without causing any casualties. “Unfortunately, a drone hit a parking lot next to the legation building and caused a fire. All personnel are safe,” Rubio said in Washington.
In Irbil, the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, Associated Press journalists heard explosions and saw smoke rising near the US diplomatic post on Tuesday, but there were no reports of casualties after a new intercepted wave of drone and missile attacks.
Several drones targeted areas around the US consulate building on Tuesday but did not hit it directly. Debris from intercepted drones caused fires and property damage.
Iraqi militias linked to Iran have claimed multiple attacks on the Kurdish region, which hosts American troop bases, since the US and Israel began the war against Iran.
At the international airport in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, where there is a military base that houses American advisers and previously housed troops from the US-led coalition, a drone was shot down this Tuesday. “A small drone was shot down… on the outskirts of Baghdad international airport, with no casualties or material damage,” the Iraqi government’s media security cell reported.
