Senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE) will file a direct appeal to the president of the (Supreme Federal Court), minister, to reverse the decision that annulled the breach of confidentiality of Maridt, a company linked to the minister’s family.
He appeals Gilmar Mendes’ decision, which he classified as “scandalous”. The STF minister dismissed a court case to comply with the company’s request.
In practice, it prevented the CPI from accessing Maridt’s secrets.
Alessandro Vieira will ask Fachin to annul Gilmar Mendes’ decision and adopt the “ordinary” procedure of the process, that is, that the decision be made by André Mendonça, who is the current rapporteur of the Master case at the STF.
In the view of parliamentarians from the Organized Crime CPI, the biggest obstacle to investigations are some STF ministers and not politicians involved in the fraud.
“This is the biggest laundry case in this country,” the Organized Crime CPI rapporteur told the Panel.
