Former Rapid goalie Georg Koch died


Düsseldorf – Former Rapid goalkeeper Georg Koch died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 54. The German made nine appearances for Hütteldorfer in 2008 – the last of which came in a derby in which a firecracker thrown by Austria fans exploded in his immediate vicinity. Afterwards, Koch suffered from tinnitus and balance problems. In Germany, Koch played 213 times in the Bundesliga and 165 games in the 2nd division.
