With the dismissal of the general silencer Dias Toffoli, the investigations and revelations about the Banco Master scandal are offering a better view of the iceberg that was trying to remain hidden.
The thing, to say the least, is very ugly and involves militia and mafia practices, and other barbarities. From what is revealed, the Master’s group should not be compared to organized crime – it is organized crime.
Among the first, the usual suspects of the right stand out, the good centrão gang, represented by names like. This is also the case with the governor of Rio, Cláudio Castro, from the Bolsonarist PL, a character of the lowest caliber. There are many others in the rain, such as the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, from União Brasil, and a pack trying to take shelter.
We also learned that Central Bank employees were taking bribes from the boss — perhaps a sign that there may be more threads to pull at the institution that became autonomous during the Bolsonaro period.
Likewise, there are suspicions surrounding bigwigs of the Federal Supreme Court, one of them at least, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, widely supported by the left, for good and bad reasons.
All things considered, however, it is above all the right that is currently going down the tubes with financial agents and those who propagate the fanciful vision of the market as a virtuous entity that self-regulates and dispenses with controls.
The favorable conditions offered by the financial market for illicit activities that circulate dirty money, orchestrate fraud, and launder for criminal factions are already more than evident. A kind of matrioska of funds, for example, with secret owners and partners, served the criminal purposes of Daniel Vorcaro’s scheme.
We are certainly not just dealing with those funds linked to Reag, discovered during Operation Hidden Carbon, which placed Faria Lima in the PCC’s sinister ball. What depths without sunlight continue to be navigated by financial divers?
Let us also remember that the Master affair was preceded by the frightening accounting scandal involving the affairs of people often incensed by the commercialism on duty, such as the Lemann Trio.
Let us also not forget that Vorcaro’s great deception was designed, to end with “the dumping of a corpse in the lap of what, in the end, is the government, the general public.” An old modus operandi, let’s say.
Despite the MBL’s demonstration of protest surrounding the scandal, the left is increasingly feeling comfortable, in the context of an electoral campaign, to paste the episode on the right. “Ah, but it’s to hide Lulinha and other problems”, one might argue.
Yes, the left is no saint and until the foundations of the agreement in crisis are reestablished, if that happens, the dispute will intensify. We are still in the dark and a more consistent involvement of someone linked to PTism cannot be ruled out.
