O Unemployment in Brazil was 5.4% in the quarter ending in January, according to monthly data from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnad Contínua) released this Thursday (5), by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
No same period of 2025the unemployment rate measured by Pnad Contínua was at 6,5%. No moving quarter until Decemberthe unemployment rate was 5,1%.
A The worker’s real average income was R$3,652.00 in the quarter ending in January. The result is the highest in the historical serieswith an increase of 2.8% in the quarter and 5.4% in the year.
The usual real income paid to employed people totaled R$370.3 billion in the quarter ended in January, high of 7.3% compared to the same period from last year.
The wage bill in circulation in the economy increased by R$25.108 billion in the period of one year, to R$370.3 billion, an increase of 7.3% in the quarter ending in January compared to the quarter ending in January 2025.
In comparison with the quarter ended in October, real income rose 2.9%, with R$10.527 billion more.
