Attention to the most vulnerable territories
On Thursday, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) warned of preventive measures until Friday due to the worsening of the weather on the continent, with strong wind, rain, snow and waves that can reach 11 meters.
ANEPC realized that the most serious meteorological situation is expected mainly in most vulnerable territories affected by the Kristin depression, the West, Leiria and Coimbra regions.
Remembering that the possible impact of these effects can be minimized through preventive measures and appropriate behavior, Civil Protection calls on activities near watercourses and crossing flooded areas are avoided, and animals, equipment, vehicles and other goods are removed from normally flooded areas to safe locations.
The notice also advises populations to ensure adequate fixation of loose structures, such as scaffolding, billboards and other suspended structures, and to take special care when traveling and staying near wooded areas, due to the possibility of falling branches and trees due to strong wind.
