After the attack on Iran, Deco indicates that it is best to avoid “excessive anticipatory behavior”. Payment must increase.
The US and Israeli attack on Iran should also affect the housing credit.
According to DECO, the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection, the new scale in conflicts in the Middle East should give rise to “a greater pressure on euribor rates”.
The international context is “uncertain” and, in cases of real estate credit, Deco recommends an “in detail” analysis of the conditions.
In fact, this is really a “opportune moment for consumers to analyze the conditions of their credit in detail and evaluate the possibility of renegotiating“, comments Magda Canas, from DECO.
The association’s specialist warns in the TSF that the mortgage payment should rise soon: “For those who have real estate credit, it is expected that there will be greater pressure on Euribor rates. Those who are going to review their rates should expect increases in the near future.”
The impact on housing payments will, as with other expensive payments, depend “on the duration and intensity of the conflict and also, naturally, on the political decisions that are adopted”, adds Magda.
The impact on financial markets will be “inevitable” – but DECO recommends that consumers avoid “impulsive decisions”.
Regarding the likely discount on the ISP, in relation to fuels, the DECO specialist summarizes: “It is the possible solution.”
