Research methodology

The data was produced from daily monitoring of news published in the media about violence and public security. The information collected from different sources was recorded in a database, which subsequently underwent review and consolidation.

According to the Observatory Network, this monitoring makes it possible to identify cases that present evidence of violence against women, but which are not always classified in this way by the authorities, such as situations of bodily harm, threats and other forms of aggression.
