Therefore, it is worth cleaning it thoroughly after winter. It’s not just about vacuuming, which we probably did regularly, but about thoroughly scrubbing the carpet fibers. It is worth doing this not only after winter, but regularly – every 2 or 3 months. If you have small children or pets in the house, it is best to do this even more often.
A mixture of three ingredients found in the kitchen cabinet will help you quickly deal with all the contamination. This includes citric acid, baking soda and table salt. Mix these ingredients in equal proportions and sprinkle the finished mixture on the carpet. Let’s try to spread it evenly on it.
Leave the mixture on the carpet for about 20 minutes. After this time, we take a vacuum cleaner and thoroughly vacuum the entire surface of the carpet. Baking soda and salt fight against unpleasant odors and moisture. In turn, citric acid loosens dirt, making it easier to remove.
After thoroughly vacuuming a carpet treated with a similar mixture, you should immediately notice the difference. The carpet will be visibly refreshed, smell better and fluffier. Its colors will be like new.
