Indian Wells (California) – East Tyrolean Lilli Tagger successfully played her debut match at a WTA 1000 tennis tournament. The 18-year-old defeated the Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva 6:2, 6:4 in 82 minutes in the first round at Indian Wells on Friday night (CET) and will now face the Greek Maria Sakkari, who was just number 32. Thanks to this success, Tagger has already achieved a new high in the world rankings; her previous top ranking was 114.
