The president of the United States, Donald Trump, warned this Saturday of the possibility of expanding joint attacks with Israel in Iran while blaming the de-escalation offer made a few hours ago by his Iranian counterpart, Masud Pezeshkian, as a consequence of the “all-out” military campaign that began a week ago against Tehran.
“Iran, which is being brutally beaten, has apologized and surrendered to its neighbors, promising not to shoot them again. This promise has occurred thanks to the relentless American and Israeli attack,” Trump said in a message published on his Truth Social platform.
Pezeshkian announced this Saturday the suspension of bombings against targets in neighboring countries in the region and has apologized for a strategy that he attributed to a military measure of force majeure in the face of the death of the security leadership in last week’s attacks by the US and Israel, but he has clarified that his country reserves the right to counterattack if it is again the target of attacks from these places.
However, and in parallel with the Iranian president’s announcement, in recent hours the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has launched attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, positions of Iranian Kurdish separatists in Iraq, and the international military base of Al Dhafra, in the United Arab Emirates, where there are US and French forces.
“It is the first time in thousands of years that Iran loses to neighboring countries,” Trump added before ensuring that all of them have thanked him for ordering the campaign. Tehran has become, according to the president, the “loser” of the region “and will remain so for decades until it surrenders or, more likely, completely collapses.”
Trump added that, for now, he has no intention of letting up and has promised that Iran “will receive a very hard blow today” and that “because of its misconduct, the total destruction and certain death of areas and groups of people that until now had not been considered a target are being seriously considered.”
