An investigation of the CNN revealed that the impact of air strikes from USA and of Israel no Iran It did not limit itself to hitting security infrastructure, but also caused damage to nearby civilian locations, including hospitals.
CNN found an impact crater at least 12 meters wide in the offices of Tehran.
Observed in satellite images, its diameter is compatible with that of craters left by 900 kg (2,000 lb) bombs. When detonated, this weapon scatters glowing metal fragments that can be lethal up to 300 meters (1,000 feet) away.
The crater is just 30 meters from Gandhi Hospital. Verified videos from the period after the attack show shattered glass, collapsed walls and patients – including babies –. Satellite images show a communications tower at the broadcasting complex completely destroyed after the attack.
Wes Bryant, a former U.S. special forces tactical air controller, told CNN that “there’s no way this couldn’t have been at least something equivalent to a 2,000-pound bomb.”
The attacks also hit police headquarters, destroying buildings, as satellite images show. Videos show damage to several other nearby hospitals. Bryant assessed that this indicated the use of multiple munitions with a payload of 227 kg (500 pounds) or less.

One was also hit directly, killing more than 160 students and staff, according to state media. It is about 60 meters from an Iranian military base, which was also hit. Neither the US nor Israel claimed responsibility for this attack. A gym in Fars province was also hit; Iranian media reported that around 20 volleyball players were inside at the time of the attack. The target has not been identified, but a police station is nearby.
CNN reached out to the US and Israeli militaries for comment on these attacks and asked what measures are being taken to prevent harm to civilians.
