The arrival of refugees and migrants in Europe is falling significantly. This is often forgotten due to the many tightening measures that the EU and its member states keep announcing. Among other things, Italy is taking tough action against NGO rescue ships. Giorgia Meloni’s government sees this as a pull factor, i.e. an incentive to encourage people to dare to make the dangerous crossing to Europe. Several studies have not yet clearly confirmed this.
