An action by security forces resulted in the seizure of approximately five kilos of narcotics and the arrest of two suspects, in addition to the apprehension of a minor, in the municipality of Mâncio Lima, in the interior of Acre.
The operation was carried out on the night of (7) and included teams from (Gefron), linked to the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security of Acre (Sejusp).
According to information from authorities, the suspects were traveling on a motorcycle when they were approached by agents while patrolling branches of the municipality, close to Ramal do Batoque. During the search, the police found around five kilos of marijuana that were being transported by the group.
Given the situation, the two adults were arrested and the minor was apprehended. All were taken, along with the drug, to the Acre Civil Police station in Cruzeiro do Sul, where legal procedures were carried out.
The action is part of Operation Protector of Borders, coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, which aims to intensify the fight against cross-border crimes, such as drug trafficking, smuggling and other illegal activities on the border.
According to security forces estimates, the seizure represents a loss of approximately R$24,000 to organized crime.
