The Turkish president is sounding the alarm: Iran threatens our relations with provocative actions

According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, despite repeated warnings, Iran has again taken provocative steps that damage relations with Ankara. The statement came after Monday’s downing of an Iranian ballistic missile in Turkish airspace, TASR reports, according to an AFP report.

“Despite our warnings, extremely bad and provocative actions continue to be taken that threaten the friendship with Turkey. Nobody should behave like that.” Erdogan said after the cabinet meeting. According to him, Turkey will take the necessary measures for defense, however the goal is to stay out of war in the Middle East.

NATO air defense systems in the eastern Mediterranean shot down a ballistic missile fired from Iran in Turkish airspace on Monday. A similar missile before entering Turkish airspace intercepted by NATO defense in the middle of last week, Iran denied firing it. At the same time, the Turkish Ministry of Defense said on Monday, that six F-16 fighter jets were sent to northern Cyprus for security reasons.
