21% of respondents responded that health is their biggest concern; security was mentioned by 19%
Research released on Monday (March 9, 2026) indicates that aea are Brazil’s main problems. Already 9% of those interviewed mentioned corruption as a problem, even after the outbreak of cases such as do and dos (National Social Security Institute).
According to the survey, health (21%) leads among the country’s main problems cited by interviewees, technically tied with security (19%). Corruption (9%) only appears later, numerically behind the economy (11%) and next to education (9%).
“Corruption was an important event in the government [Rousseff (PT)]but now it is not necessary in relation to these 2 problems”said Luciana Chong, general director of Datafolha, when commenting on the survey numbers.
Those interviewed by Datafolha responded to the question: “Considering the areas that are the responsibility of the federal government, in your opinion, what is the main problem in the country today?”.
Here are the answers:
- health – 21%;
- violence, security, police, crime – 19%;
- economy, inflation, increase in the price of basic food baskets – 11%;
- education – 9%;
- corruption, dishonesty – 9%;
- unemployment – 4%;
- hunger, misery, poverty – 3%;
- social inequality, poor income distribution – 3%;
- poor administration – 2%;
- salary – 2%;
- politics – 1%;
- abusive taxes – 1%;
- housing – 1%;
- infrastructure – 1%;
- impunity – 1%;
- president – 1%;
- others – 7%;
- none – 1%;
- don’t know – 6%.
Datafolha heard in person 2,004 people, aged 16 or over, distributed in 137 municipalities across Brazil, from March 3 to 5. The maximum margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points, and the confidence level is 95%. The research is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under code BR-03715/2026. It cost R$307,641.60, paid with own resources.
