AJA information was confirmed by the athletes’ defense lawyer, Atevaldo Santana, on Tuesday afternoon (10).
In contact with the report, the lawyer stated that the decision represents the beginning of dismantling the accusations presented against the players. “We have started to dismantle the sand castle”, declared Atevaldo Santana when commenting on the judicial decision that granted freedom to two of those investigated.
According to him, the defense r “We saw that two of the players were released by the courts,” said the lawyer.

Still according to Santana, the defense’s expectation is that the progress of the process will prove that the athletes did not commit the crime. “I’m very hopeful that they’re innocent, totally innocent,” he said.
REMEMBER THE CASE
Erick Luiz Serpa Santos Oliveira, Matheus Silva, Brian Peixoto Henrique Iliziario and Alex Pires Júnior are involved in an alleged gang rape against two women, in the club’s accommodation, in Rio Branco. Erick Serpa was arrested in the act on February 14th and had his arrest converted into preventive custody during a custody hearing on Sunday, February 15th. The rest were arrested on Monday, February 16.
The case is under secrecy and is investigated by the Specialized Women’s Assistance Police Station (Deam). Preliminary information indicates that the victims had gone to the club’s accommodation for a consensual encounter with one of the athletes. However, according to the report, they were coercively taken to a dormitory where the other players were waiting, when the abuse occurred.
