Rapper L7nnon published a video in the early hours of this Tuesday (10/3) in which he makes a strong outburst against violence against women. In the recording, the artist criticizes naturalized behavior among men and states that it is not possible to treat aggression or situations of abuse as something normal.
During the video, the musician states that many men still view reports of aggression as a joke or trivialize cases of violence within their friends’ circles. For him, this attitude contributes to the maintenance of abusive behavior: “If you have a friend, you sit in a circle where so-and-so says: ‘Oh no, I really hit my wife, I really scold her, that’s it. I don’t talk much, I beat her up’: there’s no way to hear that kind of thing and think it’s cool, find it funny. There’s no way you can think it’s normal,” he said.

In her outburst, L7nnon also drew attention to situations in which women are placed in vulnerable conditions in social environments, such as parties. The rapper criticized men who encourage excessive alcohol consumption with the intention of taking advantage of the situation.
According to him, if a woman doesn’t show interest when she’s sober, there’s no point in trying to change that decision through drinking: “If the girl doesn’t want anything to do with you, when she’s sober, it doesn’t have to be a drinking option for her to change her mind, no. It’s all wrong, did you care? If you’re on my side, if you come and talk cute, if you come and think that ‘oh, no, I’m really going to say it, this is my way’. Your way is wrong. Your way is a crime! If you’re getting drunk someone for you to take advantage of, it’s a crime, man”, he said.
L7nnon also highlighted that men need to take a stand when they witness this type of behavior among friends, instead of ignoring or normalizing the situation.
At another point in the video, the rapper mentioned the increase in cases of feminicide and said that the seriousness of the issue should provoke reflection in everyone. For him, not taking a stand in situations of violence or disrespect also contributes to the problem continuing.
At the end of the video, L7nnon said he decided to talk about the subject directly, appealing to common sense. The rapper acknowledged that there are experts and content creators who explain the topic in more depth, but that it is necessary to approach the subject as a male figure.
